Our Founder
His Holiness Swami Shantanand Saraswathi
Swami Shantanand Saraswathi was a man of few words, yet his teachings resonated deeply with all who encountered him. A man of infinite sensitivity, his ideas were shaped by simple, universal truths found in all cultures—serve, love, and give selflessly. Though an Indian by birth and a swami by choice, he was not bound by labels. Homeless in the literal sense of the word, he was rooted in the hearts of those who sought answers to life’s eternal questions. His words had the power to challenge established beliefs, dismantling the wisdom imposed by years of schooling, and offering new perspectives that illuminated the true essence of life. His insights inspired countless individuals to take action and move closer to realising their dreams.

In 1971, Swamiji arrived in Kuala Lumpur with a prayer: “Dear master, I do not know why you have brought me here, but let me be worthy of your love and grace.” His teachings on God’s love, service to humanity, and the unity found in all religions moved many. His message was simple yet profound: God is Love, and this love can be expressed through service to others.

In 1981, with the help of key supporters, Swamiji established The Temple of Fine Arts Kuala Lumpur, which became the foundation for his vision of reconnecting the youth to India’s rich cultural and artistic heritage. Over the years, he expanded the organisation’s presence to Singapore, Australia, India, and other parts of Malaysia, creating a global platform for artistic, cultural, and spiritual expression.
